Hi, I’m Megan Haigood *
HI! Usually I start with- “long story short”, but let’s not do that here…
Who am I? I’m a simple Texas girl that went off to college on her own, met her hunk in class, got her big girl job as an architect, survived the 2008 recession (barely), followed her sweetheart (yep- same one) and ended up getting married in Savannah, GA at Wormsloe Plantation in 2013 just like in a freaking movie scene.
We have lived a crazy military lifestyle for 16 years. As a Special Forces family we have seen true sacrifice and hold our family near. We know how blessed we are and thank the good lord daily for this life we have! 5 years in Germany and traveling the world to 30+ countries and now having two beautiful children who also love to travel and be creative is something I will never take for granted. Shout out to that Green Beret over there in the photo who has done practically all the work on the Studio. He set out to use every spare minute he could to make this little dream come true. I’m a pretty lucky gal!
We have lived in Colorado Springs since 2018 and after dedicating my time to being a stay at home mom for so long- it’s time to get back to creating and I get to share that space with you all! The HCº (Haigood & Company) Studio- is a full on family love affair with all things design, travel, nostalgia, timeless finishes and a little bit of that home-y feeling. With an architecture degree (Megan) and a landscape architecture degree + licensed contractor (David- on top of being a BA Special Forces member) we designed this space exactly the way we would design a space for ourselves- with the most intention to detail.
We truly hope it inspires you to create and look around to appreciate some of the older more simple things in life still around us. Also maybe just go stroll an antique store with a cup of coffee one day ,ok?
Some Fun Facts About Me:
I'm an architect by trade. (architectural consultant) - It gets complicated explaining that i'm not licensed.I was born in Dublin, TX- home of Dr. Pepper. Yes I absolutely love me some 23 flavors. And chances are you might find some in the studio fridge ;)We lived in Germany for 5 years. I left my architecture career when we moved and started a photography business there. From birth to newborn and families it was quite the thriving business in our military community.Hardest job of my life was and still is being a Mom. Most rewarding though. {i really do love them so much!}. But now mama's getting back to some creativity of her own!I LOVE music. Pretty much all of it. You can find me listening to anything from 90's country to Fleetwood Mac or Lana Del Rey to EDM. Lately Fred Again's Feisty has been on repeat. i love a good dance beat. ps. the speaker in the studio is great for a dance sesh. just saying.
