LIGHTING
As we consider ourselves a natural light studio… it’s important to know what you’re walking into and to book a time thats going to help you create the magic you’re dreaming up with the right lighting conditions!
See below for photo walls and kitchen area…
The photo walls are matte white. The long wall faces South and short wall faces East. The garage door is on the East side of the studio. The light comes in from the garage door and the LIGHT HITS THE SOUTH FACING PHOTO WALL ONLY. This provides harsh light and shadow for your creative use! It comes in at sunrise and slowly diminishes around 11:15am.
You can use the sheer curtains for soft effects and diffusing the light as you wish.
**See examples of times of day below.

This is at 8am. You can see the light extends almost to the end of the wall. The small photo wall that faces east receives only soft indirect light.

This is at 10am, no curtain use. Full light and shadows in effect.
This is at 11am- harsh light has dwindled to a little sliver. For the remainder of the photo walls will receive gorgeous indirect lighting.

kitchen & workspace area
These spaces get indirect lighting most of the day. The workspace table is on the south wall of the studio. As the sun rounds the corner mid-day it begins to come in through the windows around 1230/1pm.
You can see the photo examples of times of day if you are wanting to shoot this area of the studio. If you need more help deciding a good time- reach out!

2pm
In the early afternoon you will get some fun direct light coming through these windows. The light will hit the brass bits and create some fun moments, if that’s your vibe! Can of course close the curtains to diffuse the harsh light when needed.

kitchen
Later in the afternoon you will get these fun splashes of light in the kitchen area. The sun is starting to go down then, so it’s a bit warmer in tone.
